notes

Also, I am interested in these “accidental sculptures.”  I have talked a little about them before, but there is something nice about a sculpture not intended to be one.

Continuing to work on creating interesting photographic diptychs.  I want to continue with the stairs, and also start shooting basketball goals.  Sometimes it is more interesting to look at two images side by side then, to look at one.

I have also created another “youtube dance performance” to the tune of Robyn’s Dancing on My Own.  Once again this idea of compression artifacts and then the fleeting pixel.

On thursday I documented a performance by Aberlyn in which she buried a road-killed raccoon.  Daniel Frank and I photographed, and videographed the actions as well as hashed out concepts and ideas.  The work will feature relics from the dig, as well as photographs, and video to accompany Aberlyn’s paintings.

stairs>chairs

Most people have argued for decades that the icon for humanity is the chair.  Sometimes I think it is stairs.  There is also something nice about the line quality and mark making of a path.  Tire tracks on a golf course, often walked dirt path surrounded by green grass. etc.
